I can see why some people might have taken badly to the statue: it just doesn't look like him at all. That could be anyone. Who chose the sculptor? I appreciate the idea, but the result is just ludicrous. And I can't imagine what his children must have been thinking at the unveiling, having to stand next to this awful statue.

I concur. Chris and Soundgarden were the soundtrack of my 20s onwards (I’m in my 50s now) Long after Grunge and Nirvana had passed into Rock history I was still listening to his songs, those beautiful abstract lyrics, like audial paintings. They’ve always synced with me, even if I didn’t always fully understand them. RIP brother✌️

I got pretty much everything he’s done with each band and his solo stuff as well. I had just turned my older sister onto his work. I couldn’t believe she didn’t know any of his stuff at all. We grew up on rock but then she went the whole MaDonna nasal annoying bubble gum pop crap🤣 Then heartbreak happened and the world lost an incredible talent. I know how hard the brain can play tricks on us. People who don’t experience that are blessed I guess. RIP Chris you were at the tippy tippy of incredible musicianship. Cool statue too!✌🏻

Def Leppard's 1983 release Pyromania was a smash hit! They were on top of the world. Then Drummer Rick Allen lost his arm in a car accident. Rather than go on without him,and at the risk of fading into obscurity after many years of hard work achieving massive success,the band waited 4 years (an eternity in the music biz) for Rick to heal and to develop a new technique and innovative style of playing his drums. Their follow-up album, Hysteria in 1987 was an instant success,eventually reaching #1 on the Billboard 200 and U.K. album charts. point being,the band put their love and loyalty of a brother ahead of themselves and their ambitions,and It paid off in astronomical fashion. Hindsight being 20/20. Can't help but wonder,if his Bon Jovi bandmates chose to pull back a bit and support Richie through his tough times,after 30 years in the band,and at that point in their careers where they'd pretty much done it all,and then some may have made for a stronger,tighter,much more cohesive unit in the studio and on the road,while maintaining the core integrity of the band. Phil X is incredible! A cool AF,hilarious,multi-faceted monster musician who can play,sing and perform with,and/or better than the best of them IMO. Richie Sambora's indispensable contribution to the Bon Jovi sound and live performance will never be eclipsed.

My son and I were there the night Richie didn’t show up, Calgary, April 2, 2013. It was a very odd feeling when the preshow announcement came on telling the crowd he was ‘unable to perform’ that night. You knew something wasn’t right. Bobby Bandiera and Jon worked their asses off to cover guitar parts.

What a terrible thing to do to your star guitarist. I'm surprised he toured with them at all after that. He was right to walk away after being treated with such contempt. The only regret should be that he didn't walk away before the tour started. I've always thought Bon Jovi was never truly Bon Jovi without him. That's the equivalent of replacing Brian May and expecting his band to still be Queen and still have the Queen sound. Unique musicians really are irreplaceable.

He quit because he wanted to spend time with his kids, his daughter. So he funked all the band members over it. Richies always been a sucker for teen girls. Now she's thinking, "get out there and work dad!" I'm gonna get married and need your support!

Krist seems like the nicest funniest guy .What a sad memory.He has heart ,and true love for Kurt. I know they have concluded it was a suicide but some of the bizarre facts of this case just dont add up. To me - Kurt was too deep had soul and loved his daughter so much and wanted to live ...just not the way he was living. If I had been hanging around that crowd I would asked Kurt what HE wanted to do next ,before I did that I would have taped CL's mouth shut , cancelled all HER CC's ,then put her in the trunk of a car and told the driver to drive west for 6 months.Then trll Kurt she was gone and let him run his own life and make his own decisions. What a nice thing it was for her to do .....to stage an intervention with a person in his state of mind...Anyone vouldve seen that would throw him over the top. She also told him over the phone that he dropped Frances on her head - but didnt harm her - in the interview i saw she was cocky and proud that she made him feel like a piece of crap . A narcissist would tell a lie like that to push him further over the edge. Everyone says - just let Kurt rest in peace - 😢 I think hnk he IS resting in peace - hes in a better place by far - however justice needs to be served - then we all here can rest in Peace.
